OUR MISSION

“The only way out of a lifestyle dictated by problem behaviors is to teach skills.”

-Gregory Hanley Ph.D., BCBA-D

We want to reduce your stress, fear, and worry for the future. By using ABA therapy in the naturalistic setting, our mission is to teach skills and reduce severe problem behaviors to improve social interactions and quality of life for the client and the family. By applying the principles of ABA into day to day living and interactions, we teach emotional regulation, social skills, communication, and ways to reduce those challenging behaviors.

JOANN TIPPETT

BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

M.Ed.

JoAnn is a Behavior Technician. She knew from an early age that she was supposed to help others find their voice. She was raised with an older sister who was highly impacted by cognitive and physical disabilities. Through this special relationship, JoAnn was able to observe that all behavior is communication. This is what led to her current career path. She graduated from Oglethorpe University in 2004, with a bachelor's degree in English. Upon graduation, she gained experience working in preschools, Montessori schools, and specialized educational environments. After moving to Grand Junction, JoAnn pursued a license in Special Education through Colorado Christian University and became a lead teacher in a high-needs school. She has a special interest in finding the “why” behind behavior. She believes that many problem behaviors come from the inability to effectively communicate wants and needs. Through positive reinforcement and modeling, JoAnn hopes to teach others how to self-advocate for their needs and wants.

“When little people are overwhelmed by big emotions, it’s our job to share the calm, not to join the chaos.” - Unknown
